RESOLUTE THIS

1- BE SKINNY

2- NO L-WORD EVER AGAIN

3- USE PASSPORT

4- KEEP BLOG UPDATED REGULARLY

5- KEEP JUICY JOURNAL & BLOG BOOK & PEN PALS UPDATED

6- SIMPLIFY

Go 2009, I've broken a majority if not all of these and it's only the 8th day!

1- I have discovered the holiday candy, my mother took me literally when I said all I want is CANDY for Christmas, said while on the lemonade diet! After a week of searching, I have ascertained the chocolate covered cinnamon bears down at Stewarts. There is also Valentine gummy hearts now out on display, that should last me until Cadbury Mini Eggs come out in March. I am going to be fat this year. Also contributing is Dezi with the welcome home purple skittles.

2- Not even three hours after midnight I gave into this one! I'm completely helplessly F-word retarded when it comes to the L-word.

3- I was suppose to Christmas present me with a cute colorful leather passport cover in hopes for it to be seen and used. The navy blue and gold coloring needs to be kept hidden. I don't do navy blue.

4- Haha, day 8 and I'm still working on December's issues. Alas, New York is complete! So scroll down for the 5 NYC posts. Keep checking back for the Key West edition and the best of 2008.

5- I still have Christmas letters and packages for the pen pals waiting to be stamped. Dezi has the blog book so I can't help that. The last dear diary entry was in November thanks to England.

6- I'm trying, although the looks of it are horrific with mounds and piles of missing and found clothes and shoes from Castle Dale to Salt Lake to Page. Haha you still have my skirts and D-Will shirt Dezi! I did snap this pic today and laugh at myself as I was folding the cardigan pile. Who has sequined cardigans? Apparently I have 4, not counting all my sequined non-cardigan categories.

HERE'S TO A SHIMMERY '09!

P.S....

SANTA DID COME!!!

I totally forgot about this and opened it with Dezi via facebook chat at 2 am.

This is even better the second time, I forgot what it even looked like!

I HEART Kate Spade stationary! And am OBSESSED with notebooks!

Inside view. Isn't she so pretty! She needs a matching pen. Hint hint.

So happy! Complete with an extra 3 pack of Kate Spade notebook paper!
I have a plethora of notebooks/pads and I'm thrilled to condense it down to just one! I don't know how people function or get through a day without a notebook. My roommates always ask me what I have to write down. Well what don't I have to write down! Names, addresses, emails, songs, prices, lists, thoughts, quotes, dates, numbers, reminders, itineraries, drawings, menus, recipes, lesson plans (yes those still pop into my head), wish lists, EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING!
Everyone needs a notebook!
Santa did it in style!

CHUCK BROWN CHRISTMAS

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Key West style
via suits and sun

Ha this is what we did today in 78* heat/humidity.

Today was especially hard to remember it was Christmas being we work every freaking day til we leave, have no Christmas tree, no presents, no family and no snow. I've NEVER not had a Christmas with my family in Castle Dale. But they LOVE me so much they are waiting to have Christmas with me next Friday when I return to Utah! Believe it or not, I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE SNOW and winter wear!

Apprehension all week for a magazine and swedish fish, open and ate on Christmas morning!

This entertained us for a good couple of hours- sunscreen and nail polish paintings.

Kallie is such a good artist! Mine is suppose to be a heart. We love pigs.

After laying out I got many a good important calls/texts/voicemails where my phone proceeded to die. Being I forgot my wall charger in New York, I was left with the car charger. So there I ran only to discover it didn't work like it did the previous day. Instead of buying another charger or borrowing a phone, I came up with the next best plan....to switch the rent-a-car out for one with a working adapter. I busted over to the airport in my beachwear only to be met with the most incompetent computer illiterate AVIS person ever. I stood in the scantily clad cover up for over an hour because "technically" I should be driving with license on hand, whereby he stipped me of the car. So there I stood with no phone, no car, no money, no id, no friends, and no one knew where I was. As I had just been relieved for not encountering a Christmas airport nightmare like so many of my friends, there I stood in the Key West Airport stranded in my bikini on Christmas. An hour and a half later Johnny grew a heart and issued me a car with a working adapter to charge my phone and drive home to my Christmas dinner.

Cheers to Christmas!
My mom saw this picture and demanded to know what was in the glass.....water duh! I drink water for Christ!
Roast beast for our Christmas feast! With cheesey potatoes to die for!

I love snail mail! I love notecards! I love snail mail notecards!

Better late than never, post marked December 24th for all 24 cards!
I will NEVER do customized Christmas cards again! 4 different versions with no one card the same and contained photos especially customized to the sender!

Lesson learned! Next Christmas go home!
Do not Choose NY, no matter how cute he or that bag is!
And always carry your license or you may get stripped!

RECOVERING INSTYLE

Like any other addiction, bad habit, obsession, fix, or idiosyncrasy, only time will redeem you back to state of normalcy. Though certain things may come to your rescue along the way. Such as a phenomenal best friend and fabulous sisters whom NEVER say "I told you so!" and a wondrous family who puts off Christmas for 8 days upon return. I managed to restore a sliver of my shattered state on my last day in the city. It consisted of:

JUICY COUTURE on 5th avenue

ROCK AND REPUBLICS
size 27 via my boys on Canal Street

CRUMBS sex & the city CUPCAKE

MOOD FABRIC

Waiting for an encounter with Tim Gunn to tell me "MAKE IT WORK!"

SHAKE SHACK burger and fries

H&M accessories spree
I am the Queen of Accessories

Funky one of a kind NYC boutique pieces

Hugs from random cute strangers
who gave me some loving

Headband compliments from gay guys

Style compliments from straight girls

MY FOUND TEMPORARILY LOST CAMERA IN THE CITY!!!!

Abnormally warm temperatures all day long,
minusing my cute coat!

Also will help but not limited to lots and lots of running and laying out around the island of Key West. The only reason I'm returning!

Forgive and forget?

I think not, I'm NEVER going to forgive him, so I guess I'm never going to forget him.
So goes the love life!

I'm going to be a bench warmer for a while. I'm taking myself out of the game, I don't want to play anymore, for a very long time! Not even next season, I'm opting injured list for this broken heart.

PURPLE SKITTLES FOR A PURPLE HEART

So the girls were done for the day at the darken time 4:30pm and headed back to Connecticut by warm train. I exercised the choice to finally meet up with stockbroker boy. My actions before and after this event were extremely ridiculously P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C! So much so I will spare you and my dignity the details. But apparently it was so horrific Diana's facebook status updated the internet world the moment she dropped me off at the airport proclaiming "why are girls (insert Bre now) so stupid and for the love of god get yourself some pride!" Total slap in my face!

I pretended and swore my trip to NYC wasn't about him nor for him but somehow stockbroker boy surpassed the way to #1 on the daily itineraries. 2 1/2 days of phone tag, voicemails, missed calls, conflicting schedules, arguing, and crying led him to voice...
DON'T WAIT FOR ME.
But I did, for the rest of the night in the cold, the whole next day clutching my phone, and even on the frozen porch before my early morning flight back. But to no avail as I was left with a broken heart eating frozen skittles in one of the most spectacular cities in the world. All for his one never ending excuse being void a car based on a previous reckless weekend of "fun". I know you're a whiz when it comes to numbers and all but ever heard of the number 7 train?! It's a little thing called public transportation, millions of New Yorkers like yourself, get on it every single day, twenty four hours a day! You should try it, I did, 11 hours worth in fact!

All I could muster up through the tears was twenty five cents for the Skittles and he gave them to me anyways. It's amazing how people can sense a complete stranger's anguish and pain. Especially those Samaritans of New York City. I have found from many a experiences that New Yorkers are indeed NICE! Thus was shown to me during my trip as I sat in Bryant Park crying over the last/final broken promise. So in conclusion, stockbroker boy go buy yourself a freaking metro card or a car already!! Maybe I should post that as my facebook status for a more effective slap in the face!

"Brianne is...why are stockbrokers so stupid and for the love of god get yourself a damn metro card!"

SEXYBACK ON A SUNDAY

Keeping our fingers crossed in the frigid cold to win Wicked tickets via lotto drawing.

On our way to Southern Hospitality on the Upper West Side.
Christmas Trees on the sidewalk for $300!

Ha! The only version I saw this weekend!

I about fell out of the taxi trying to take the picture.

Megan, Diana, and I at Southern Hospitality .

The kids macaroni and cheese is fabulous!

Kudos to the pulled pork sandwich as well!

Three sexy thumbs up!

Thumbs down on the make shift outhouse bathroom experience.

Just waiting for Justin or the Prime Minister in the VIP room, while hitting on their body guards!

ALAS! VIVA LA JUICY! After walking past the COMING SOON JUICY sign for a year on 5th I entered! And found my 2 absolute favorite things in the world merged as one...Dillons Candy Bar and Juicy wrapped in a pretty package for $50! Even though it's $10 a pound worth of candy, I would still make my daddy/Santa buy it for me.

Yes, you can wrap up Cartier for me.

My absolute FAVORITE Christmas spot in NYC.
The Saks Snowflakes!

Night time view of the musical sparkle flakes.

We are intended for 5th avenue

It was an illustrious day with the gals. It was refreshing to consort with peers who have similar ideals and agendas. Most especially New York City, guys, and New York City guys. I found myself incredibly relieved to be in the same boat via relationship woes. It was ascertained NYC guys are conclusively heinous when it comes to alliances. As evident by my forthcoming utterly tragic night.

BROOKLYN BOMBSHELLS

All bundled up (thanks to Kels and all her winter wear) and ready to burrow Brooklyn.

We ran into "SANTACON" at Grand Central!

Getting cozy with the Santa's on the subway.
Love the Pimp Santa in the back.
Pretty sure I sat on Mr. Blue eyes lap.

I absolutely love Brooklyn!!
Williamsburg, Dumbo, Fulton street, Bedford street, quaint shops, cozy cafes, all the culture of city life MINUS the TOURISTS! It was real and raw and I LOVED IT!!!

Ghetto fabulous shopping and steals!

Beacon's Closet OVERWHELMED my obsessive compulsive nature! Everything was color coded! I didn't know where to begin, I could have wiped out my itinerary for a day to spend riffling through Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg!

Hip music slash venue scene.

At Juniors in Brooklyn WITHOUT Junior the Jamaican from Brooklyn!

Apparently baby showers, a hair cut, and a scary mother are more important than picking up Bre from the airport. Thus causing immediate dismissal from the itinerary.

We are still uncertain about the baby daddy-ness of the shower!

JUNIORS is FAMOUS for its CHEESECAKE!! The BEST in NY, ohmy!

FINALLY got my hot dog! LOVE to devour EM (the hot dog not Santa)!

Our Brooklyn Boots with the Fur!

BREE + KELSEE = FUN..EE!

I HEART KELS! She is my favorite side kick while I play Dora the Explora around the city. She is always up AND DOWN for anything! Literally, getting lost, midnight trips to Queens, crying in Stop & Shop, trying to find the damn L train, Nike town stalks, ballets, baseball, cupcakes, lemonade diets, bright colors, and being the only white girl at a black block party and/or club!

VIVA LA BROOKLYN
our last adventure
